Anthem of the Republic of Slovenia (gift) - Zdravljica (original calligraphy)
Lyrics to the national anthem of the Republic of Slovenia is the seventh stanza of the poem Greetingswritten by France Prešeren. The text goes beyond the Slovenian national framework in its conception, as its message emphasises peacefulness and openness to the world.
The complete poem is also written in a special visual poetic form carmen figuratum, depicting the image of a wine goblet, as it is a drinking fountain.
It is one of the few hymns that are not afraid. It rejects fighting and strife and seeks the unity and friendship of all nations. It emphasises solidarity, hospitality, freedom and tolerance. Values that are intertwined with the national spirit. Composer Stanko Premrl added music to the message of the anthem, which expresses the pride of a nation.
